New York man killed in one of many city truck accidents

Truck accidents are a common occurrence in New York but a recent one resulted in the death of the driver of the truck. The truck involved was a cement pumper used in the construction of high-rise buildings. People living in the area say that truck accidents happen often in that area but this was the worst they had seen.

An eyewitness to the entire incident stated that the truck had been on an expressway that ran by the area but, where the highway turned, the truck kept going straight. The driver hit several cars along the road and was honking his horn warning people to move out of the way. The witness said it looked like the truck was out of control.

Eventually the truck hit the bottom floor of an apartment complex. Another person nearby said the impact sounded like a bomb exploding. There were people in the apartment when the truck hit but they did not suffer any physical injuries, although they were extremely unsettled by the incident.

Two passengers riding in the truck were taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, but both are in stable condition. Several other people, occupants of the cars hit along the truck's route and a fireman, received minor injuries. The official cause of the incident has not been determined, but the driver of the truck may have had a heart attack while on the road.

New York residents have sufficient cause to be wary of truck accidents. From incidents like this one to those caused by inclement weather or reckless drivers, accidents are a possibility while traveling the roads. For those who have been involved in any type of vehicle accident at the fault of another, it may be necessary to seek financial compensation to cover such costs as medical bills, legal fees and other necessary expenditures.
